Insulation
Engineered Comfort has the ability to take complete control of the indoor environment by installing efficient insulation and properly air sealing the entire envelope of a house. By doing this, equipment can be more efficiently sized and energy usage and conservation can be maximized, making Engineered Comfort a valuable partner for anyone looking to build their dream home.
Cellulose Insulation
Engineered Comfort, Inc. began insulating homes in 2001 with Cellulose Insulation. We have found it to be the most effective product to match with our systems and it is our preferred method of insulating a home.
Cellulose insulation is recycled newspaper and cardboard that has been treated with boric acid to prevent the product from burning and with wheat starch to act as glue when mixed with water. Cellulose has no toxic materials and is the healthiest form of insulation you can use.
We use cellulose as the standard when calculating the most efficient designs possible.
Open and Closed Cell Foam
In recent years, foam insulation has become more mainstream due to the desire to become more efficient. Foam based insulations are more expensive and require specialized training and equipment to properly apply.
There are projects that have low slope roofs where the payback for foam is quicker and some complex projects dictate a foam solution. There are clients that want the large semi-conditioned attic space to store their things in, in which case a foam roof deck is a perfect solution. Foam is something that we are happy to provide to our clients if desired.
Don’t just take our word for it.
